What does the downsizing process look like? When downsizing, a lot of people find that they have to get rid of some belongings when they move into their new home. There are a number options when it comes to managing this. You can pay for a storage unit, sell some belongings, or donate them to charities. If possible, it can be helpful to find your new home before you begin the downsizing process, because it will allow you to be able to more accurately asses what items you will be able to keep and what you will have to get rid of.
